Custom Portals & Dashboards

Loan origination flows, agent portals, ops dashboards, internal tools — built around how your team actually works, not a generic template.

We design and build internal tools that replace fragile spreadsheets, glue-code Zaps, and ageing legacy portals. Typical engagements: loan origination, agent / broker portals, finance reconciliation, ops command centres, partner self-serve.

What is a custom portal, and who is it for?

A custom portal is a purpose-built web application that replaces the spreadsheets, shared inboxes, and disconnected SaaS tools your team is currently gluing together to run a process. It's for operations, finance, and lending teams who've hit the ceiling of what a generic tool like Airtable, Google Sheets, or an off-the-shelf CRM can handle — usually because the workflow involves multiple roles, approval steps, or compliance requirements that don't fit a spreadsheet row.

We've built portals for loan origination, agent commission tracking, partner self-service, and internal ops command centres across Malaysia and the wider region. If more than two people touch the same spreadsheet to get a decision made, you probably need a portal instead.

What we build

Every portal we ship includes role-based access control so each user only sees what's relevant to their job, workflow automation for the repetitive approval or handoff steps that currently eat someone's afternoon, and exportable reporting so finance and compliance can pull clean numbers without asking engineering for a one-off query. Under the hood that means a proper database (not a spreadsheet), audit trails on every record change, and an admin interface your team can use without a developer standing by. We build on Next.js and Postgres — boring, well-supported technology that will still have a maintainer available in five years.

How the engagement works

We start with a one-week, fixed-price discovery sprint: we sit with the people who actually use the current process, map every step, and hand back a one-pager that locks scope, success metrics, and known risks before any code is written. From there we ship in vertical slices every one to two weeks against a real staging URL, so you're reviewing working software — not a slide deck — throughout the build. Most portal engagements run eight to sixteen weeks from discovery to launch, depending on how many roles and integrations are involved.

Typical timeline and cost

A single-workflow portal (one core process, two to three user roles, standard reporting) typically runs RM 40,000–90,000 and eight to twelve weeks. Multi-role platforms with external integrations (payment gateways, e-signature, accounting systems) usually land in the RM 90,000–200,000+ range across twelve to twenty weeks. Every quote follows the fixed-price discovery sprint above, so you know the number before committing to the build — no hourly billing surprises.

Why build a portal with Tech DevX

You work directly with the engineer writing the code — no account manager layer, no offshore handover. We've shipped loan origination and agent-commission portals that are still in daily production use years later, because we hand back a system your own team can operate, extend, and understand, not a black box that only we can touch. Code lives in your GitHub, hosting sits on your accounts, and there's no vendor lock-in.
